So... Dragon Con 2013 was awesome. I heard an estimate of around 50-70,000 people attended. An absolutely amazing time.
We wanted to get the pictures and articles up as soon as possible.... But wireless communication was nearly impossible while within the constraints of Dragon*Con... Calls kept dropping, the internet connections were unstable at best, and chair/desk space was at a premium while out and about.
I know, I know... "What about the hotel room Deece?"
Well... ummmm.... I'm just gonna level with ya... We (like most people at the convention) pretty much stayed intoxicated the whole time we weren't in the convention halls. ( > < ) Perhaps that seems unprofessional... but we wanted to give you the purest, most accurate example of the Dragon*Con 2013 Experience... And it would be a disservice, to misrepresent the alcoholism instrumental, in attending.
It's all about journalistic integrity, we assure you.
But, Now... we have 5 days worth of articles... photos... videos... and tons of other stuff we have to sort through in order to not just go ... "BLAM... THERE!!! HAVE AT IT NERDS!!!", in a very buffet styled jumble of incoherent content.
We are assembling as we speak... and expect a detailed and visually pleasing... (Trust me on this.)... Trip Review, of one of the coolest places I've ever been.
Look forward to it.
Deece, Archmagus of the Infinity Orb
legendary creature - master chronomancer
protection from red
protection from black
when deece enters the battlefield, you may return and card from any graveyard to it's owner's library.
1U: remove target attacking creature from combat before damage is resolved.
2W: exile deece from the game, and return it to play immediately.
3WU T: destroy all creatures except Deece. They cannot be regenerated.
Now let me begin by saying these are purely farsical and not intended for actual game balance or any form of fair play. Zach and I had been goofing around with funny cards for a while now... and using multitudes of different ways to make the game fun.
One of those methods, was to create a legendary creature as an avatar for our real persona, within the game. Each of us could create one... And this was a version I liked a lot... Have fun with it...
Counter target spell, and place it on top of owner's library. Then draw a card.
This was another little fun addition to the game.
There is nothing wrong with making these games a bit hombrewey... and fun, when you are sitting around and dropping thragtusk and resto angel for the "N th time"...
It's fun to take a step back.... And goof off a bit.
So, we hope these made you laugh... and feel free to add em to your game if you dig em... or make your own if you want to try our "Custom Asswhoop MTG" as it's been lovingly dubbed round the 1d4Rounds gaming tables.
