We here at 1d4Rounds always want to support a local artist, business, or fund raiser.
And when we can do all three... It's truly a good day.
Below is a mission statement from a great friend of ours, Xavier Jones. This man has done more for young artists than anyone I have ever met.
Hit up his facebook page, and give him your support in any way possible.
But for a cause like this... Donations are always a plus.
When his Indiegogo is up, we will post the link on here.
Support your local artists...

“The BEST DAY EVER CAMPAIGN!”
AUGUSTA Georgia Is my city…
I am proud of it… When I was young things got to crazy up north for me and mine, you (Augusta) took us in as family and you grew on us. I have lived and grown here ever since. My art talent broke out when I was very young but grew largely at Lucy C. Laney High school, my Alma Marta. I wanted to go to the Art Magnet school, but could not attend John S. Davidson Preforming Arts School, but sadly could not because I was too old for its original set up. Good thing the administration let me help students there as an aid none the less, and to this day, It is still home to me. From there my Art carrier flourished at the Richmond county regional Library’s main branch as I served as the Artist in Residence there and still work with them to this very day. When I served my country and planned on leaving the service, I Came Home, to Augusta, “she was a sight for very sore eyes.” When I studied at the Savannah College of art and Design in Augusta’s Sister city, where I studied and lived for three and a half years, I thought of then, making a business in Augusta. When I was done I made my way back to the Garden City, I took the knowledge taught to me in Savannah and brought it back here to apply it here… Since then I have tried to apply my Art training here in many ways.
From Gertrude Herbert, Positive Image Studios, Art Central, and Artgro with Artist Row and the Aiken center for the Arts. I worked, and then came the Augusta Arts Council, the Art factory, The Morris Museum’s special Projects, Michael’s Art Classes, Episcopal Day School for 5 years of service, and a bench mark for me. I even taught at Hobby Lobby for a short while working three (3) years with ASU’s, Now GRU’s Continuing Education program teaching and instructing Fine Art, and Sequential Art, and working with its Kids university summer Program, as well as supporting the Saturday Market on weekends as much as one could. And Now I am back with Artist Row full circle and serving as Co-Chair under Syd Padgett the Chair of Artist Row.
I cannot mention all of the experiences in art services and programs I have worked under as an Artist, they are too numerous to count. And now I am poised to open my own program as President serving with Sheldon Eastman as Vice President for PERFECT STORM ART ENRICHMENT CENTER.
Why mentioning all of this? Because I NEED your help, I have two Causes I wish to marry together that are very important to me as well as all of you… We live in a changing world that needs Creative Courage and Arts infusion more than ever. I would not be doing this if I did not believe in it just as much as I believe in you Augusta. I know many of you in many capacities… But in the end you are all part of both Augusta and the CSRA and I believe together we can do something good as well as Awesome…
As Co-Chair of Artist Row I had the honor of standing with Artist Row’s chair Syd Padgett to award a young artist in one of the many CSRA’s High Schools a Scholarship for $1,500.00 to apply to her higher education in the arts. Artist Row has done this at least two other times in the past, helping young students financially with their art endeavor and Education. Last year Artist Row ran several fund raisers on several occasions, but sadly only managed to raise half of what we planned. Many situations, bad weather, and a bad economy made for very low turn outs for a noble cause.
And then there is my cause of opening the doors of PERFECT STORM ART ENRICHMENT CENTER the funding we worked hard for sadly didn't go through, “in business this happens, but we don’t give up...” but we will need your help to do it. I am an artist, and in my trade I am no stranger to making things with imagination and my bare hands. I can create something to help raise monies for both causes. I know many of you out there can help. I have talked to my friend and partner Syd Padgett and have come up with a fund raiser for one month, (30 days) that will solve both issues at the same time. We have risen close to $750.00 for the scholarship fund, and Perfect Storm needs at least $9,000.00 to pay for building surveys, licensing fees, power bills and rent for two months, while at the same time we implement a large national crowd Source Fundraiser for Perfect Storm later. I have made preparations for a print for sale which with your help in purchasing one will solve two Causes for the price of one. This First Friday we need you to stop by ODDFELLOW'S Art Gallery at 1036 Broad Street and purchases this print or make a donation. There are 1,111 prints signed and numbered. We wish to sell them all within 30 days and if by chance there is a demand we will make more only within that 30 day limited period to which the campaign will stop.
This fund will be split between the Artist Row Scholarship Fund and the Perfect Storm Building campaign. How much is the print you ask? We are asking you to give what you can as donations, and any donation from $15.00 or more will receive an 11X17 Color art Print Titled, “The BEST DAY EVER!” Help us make the Best day ever twice by helping us. Artist helping artist, People helping people, Augustans helping Augustans…
“I love Augusta, and I am proud to say it. You are my Family and Friends I wouldn't be here were it not for many of you. I live by the Spiritual Wisdom, “YE HAVE NOT, BECAUSE YE ASK NOT…”Help us to make change creatively, and Lets Get Busy… Thank all of you for being a part of this.”
